Very nice RT Jones course with his usual design attributes: smallish greens, no man made mounding, lots of dog legs where bunkers, trees and water force you to play a shot the hole requires.
There are few very memorable holes, but not a weak hole among them. Greens rolled well if I little on the slow side; traps have good sand; fairways give you a good lie almost every time. I will definitely return.

In the Autumn of 2016, a reviewer somehow rated this course a 1-star.
Either he shot a 140 or their review was clearly disingenuous. It is impossible that the course I played yesterday could've been a true 1-star experience. Playing mainly in the Williamsburg, VA area, my reference courses are very highly rated. From that perspective I submit the following review of Ocean Pines:

Course Layout: A+
RTJ clearly earned his high ratings as one of America's top course architects.
In 1972, the hole routings must have been so much harder with persimmon woods and balata balls. Today's distance and accuracy equipment give us an almost unfair advantage. Long Par 3's and reachable Par 5's made us really appreciate our hybrids here.
Several holes run along the canals providing a resort feel to the tract.

Course Conditions: A-
Some of the BEST teeboxes in the mid-Atlantic... Flat, lush, trimmed and with lovely little pine cones demarking your teeing distances.
We played from the tips.
Range and range balls were well above-average at their $7 price point.
Greens, bunkers and fairways were as good as any public upscale in central Virginia.
............
While all Par 4/5's except Hole#3 had clear 150yd posts, we found NO sprinkler yardages nor even 200/100 stakes. Not cool.

2 ponds were rather scummy along their edges with paper trash, algae and no active fountains.
The difficult 203-yard signature Par 3 over water had no discernable drop area. No sign nor paint circle that we could see.

Staff: C+
Pro Shop staff were very cordial and welcoming. And the Pro let my elderly father ride along with me for a discounted cart fee.. Very nice.
Beverage Cart girl was super helpful and very pleasant!
................
But.. 4 Groundskeepers made ZERO effort on #2 to minimize their distraction during our difficult 210 yard approach shots to an elevated green. Tractor left idling, talking about their precious clipboard and shuffling their important papers were absolutely unforgiveable @ our $50 greens fee on a Wednesday.

Cartmeister/Starter provided us neither a "Welcome, have you played with us before?" nor a "Pin position is x and greens are stimped around 9.5 today".

A Marshal on a Wednesday afternoon is not expected but there has to be SOME way to allow faster players a chance to move ahead. Front 9 took us just 110 minutes but after 2 hours on the inward loop, we were only on #14.
A self-policing signpost every 3rd hole REQUIRING slower players to kindly yield after their approach shots on longer holes is all it takes.

Overall, we felt that if OP can correct these few mostly human-error issues listed above, this course would rival Glen Riddle and even Bayside for Quality/Experience vs Cost.

Came here as guests on a cold beach day, and we are very glad we did. Spent the morning at the ocean pines indoor pool then came here. The staff was very welcoming to us (nonmembers) and helped with renting clubs. The gentleman who worked the carting/placing people on the course did an awesome job. He staggered people around the course so people were not bottle necked or felt rushed. He was very nice to talk to and made the golfing trip even better.
