Princess Bayside Beach Hotel

We were with a softball team and a group of almost 40 people. When we arrived, we were greeted by a great staff and allowed to check in early. The rooms are nice and clean (we aren't going to say anything about the 1980's microwave that dings!). Being in a large group is definitely a challenge for the staff, but they were absolutely amazing especially Peaches! We cannot say enough good things about her. She made sure that our large group was taken care of the entire time.

I recommend considering the Princess Bayside.

Positive: The rooms are sizeable and decent. They have good sized refrigerators as well. This is not your luxurious hotel, but it gets the job done.

The rooftop pool was enjoyable

The location was fantastic, immediately at an intersection with a light where you can walk directly across to the beach. It was perhaps the best attribute of this property, if I am being honest.

Negative: The HVAC in the room we were in sounded like a freight train. The refrigerator was loud as well. Fixable items. However, we dared not request a room change due to our poor customer service experience with the concierge when asking for towels. I requested six (6), which would be just enough for my wife, our two children, myself, my daughter's very long hair, and the floor in the bathroom. The woman at the front desk rudely and sharply replied, "How many people are in your room?!?" I replied, "Four. We also need towels for my daughter's hair and the bathroom floor!" I was told, "You DO NOT need that many towels, and it is called a floor mat!" I am not sure I needed a lesson on the differentiation between towels and floor mats ; ) No hospitality guest should be put in a position that they should defend the need to dry themselves off with fresh towels. There were a few other poor customer service issues with staff as well. Nevertheless, customer service and hospitality are critical in our decision making when we travel.

The hotel location is great! Of course, the Efficiency w/kitchen rooms are more spacious than the others. Balcony views are nice and relaxing. Not noisy!!

My issue is with the Ants in the room. Kitchen, bathroom and table. Take care of this and more stars would gladly be provided.

One other thing…. Only park on Level 2 with a truck. The incline to reach the level is very similar to a roller coaster before the big drop.

Really this is the final thing. Please update the air conditioning unit. Too loud!! Unable to hear the television or the person next to you when it’s on.
